The researchers compared the strength of composites made from kenaf bast and core fibers mixed with unsaturated polyester. They found that using 20% fiber content resulted in the highest tensile strength. As the fiber content increased, the stretchiness of the composites decreased. Kenaf bast fiber composites consistently showed better tensile properties compared to kenaf core fiber composites.
