New study reveals optimal relaxation modes for cleaner wastewater treatment.
The researchers studied different ways to clean filters in a wastewater treatment system. They found that one method, MBR10+1.5, worked best at reducing clogs on the filter. However, all methods increased blockages in the filter. They also discovered that high water flow at the start of the process caused more clogs. The cleaning methods helped remove some clogs that couldn't be cleaned. The system was good at removing pollutants like COD, but not as good at removing ammonium and TP.
