DURAPLOT: Revolutionizing Hydropower Site Optimization for Maximum Energy Generation
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers developed a tool called DURAPLOT to help plan hydropower projects. It analyzes power generation potential and determines the best plant size for run-of-river and storage projects. A case study on the Richford Dam Project in Vermont shows how DURAPLOT was used to optimize a small hydropower project on the Missiquoi River.
