High-protein diet boosts growth of prawns and tilapia in Bangladesh ponds.
The study looked at how different levels of protein in the diet affected the growth of Giant freshwater prawn and tilapia in ponds in Bangladesh. They tested three levels of protein in the feed and monitored water quality and growth over four months. The prawn and tilapia grew best when fed a commercial feed with 30% protein. Water quality was mostly similar across the different diets, except for water transparency. Overall, higher protein levels in the feed led to better growth and higher yields of the fish.
