Organic manure boosts crop yield and phosphorus efficiency in China.
The study looked at using organic manure instead of too much chemical fertilizer in wheat and maize farming in North China. They found that using a mix of organic compost and mineral fertilizer gave the best crop yields. Adding compost increased phosphorus in the soil and helped crops grow better. The best phosphorus use efficiency was seen when using a mix of compost and mineral fertilizer. By using less chemical fertilizer and more organic compost, farmers can get good yields and keep the soil healthy in North China.
