Chhattisgarh Farmers Reap Bountiful Harvests, Paddy and Maize Yields Soar
The study analyzed the economics of growing paddy and maize in Chhattisgarh. Paddy and maize are the main crops in the area, covering most of the kharif cropped land. The average cost of cultivating paddy per hectare was 17,476.64. The average net returns per hectare were 25,684.76 for maize. The quantity produced per farm for paddy was 28.67 quintals per hectare and for maize was 38.30 quintals per hectare. The input-output ratio for paddy was 1:3.45 and for maize was 1:2.47.
