Computable models show path to low-carbon future, empowering nations to tackle climate crisis.
Scientists reviewed over 150 studies on how a certain type of model – called CGE – is used to tackle climate change. They found that this model is crucial for dealing with global warming issues at different levels – like national and global. The research showed that China, the USA, India, and Australia are where a lot of focus is on because of their large greenhouse gas emissions. Most studies explore things like carbon taxes, reducing emissions, renewable energy, and carbon capture to create a greener economy. However, there's a trend towards using a simpler, less accurate model compared to a more complex one. The scientists suggest using other models to make better policies for the environment.
