Tree canopy position has little impact on fruit quality in Australia
The study looked at how different parts of a persimmon tree affect fruit quality and yield in subtropical Australia. They found that where the fruit grows on the tree doesn't really affect its quality, but fruit set is best in the upper parts of the tree with more sunlight. The weight of the fruit depends on how many fruits are set in that area. Factors like leaf size, shoot length, and shoot diameter don't really predict fruit size. The middle part of the tree had the least fruit disorder. Overall, the amount of sunlight affects how much fruit the tree produces, but not its quality. Good quality fruit can be picked from any part of the tree.
