Traffic pollution in Bangkok influenced by weather conditions, study finds.
The study looked at how air pollution levels (PM10 and PM2.5) are related to weather and traffic in a busy area in Bangkok. They used two methods to analyze the data: linear regression and path analysis. The results showed that weather directly affects pollution levels, and traffic has a more varied impact in open areas. In covered areas, weather indirectly affects pollution levels, while traffic has a direct impact. The path analysis was more accurate than linear regression, especially at low pollution levels. Overall, the path analysis model provided more accurate predictions for both low and high pollution levels compared to linear regression.
