A new method for enhancing images called Histogram-corrected Quadratic Histogram Equalization was developed to address issues like overly bright areas and loss of details in traditional methods. This method adjusts the histogram of an image based on its brightness levels, resulting in improved visual enhancement with better retention of image details, especially in low light infrared images.
