Water shortage risks in North China alleviated with innovative forecasting model.
The researchers used a grey forecasting model and population growth model to predict water supply and demand in North China. They found that the region is facing a serious water shortage, with only 283 cubic meters of water per person available. By implementing measures like building reservoirs and improving sewage treatment, they were able to increase water availability to around 2170 cubic meters per person, meeting the region's needs for life and economic development.
