Slopes above 20 degrees at risk of increased soil erosion.
The study looked at how soil and water erosion changes on different slopes in a mountainous area. They found that steeper slopes had more runoff and erosion, with the most at 20-25 degrees. Rainfall intensity also affected erosion, with more rain causing more erosion. Vegetation and soil quality also played a role, with more vegetation and better soil reducing erosion. Planting more vegetation can help reduce soil and water loss on slopes.
