Cambodian Farmers Boost Livestock Profits by Optimizing Herd Sizes
Livestock farming in Cambodia is important for rural households, but many farmers struggle with managing their animals efficiently. A study looked at how to optimize the size of cattle, pigs, and chickens on farms. By analyzing data from 204 households, the researchers found that farmers could improve their livestock management by increasing the number of cattle by 14% and decreasing the number of pigs and chickens by 50% and 20% respectively. This would help farmers make more money and reduce expenses. Providing farmers with more money and support could help them improve their livestock farming.
