Polluted River Threatens Livelihoods of Thousands in Hechuan Region
The study looked at water pollution in a part of the Fujiang River by measuring various substances like oxygen levels and pollutants. They found that around 75% of the river sections had slightly polluted water. Ammonia was a big cause of pollution, especially in the whole river. Some areas also had high levels of phosphorus, organic matter, and pollutants from human activities. The pollution came from sources like farming, industry, and sewage. The researchers suggested ways to reduce pollution to help keep the water clean.
