New study shows chiller can save 40% energy with higher temps!
The researchers tested a Mechanical Vapour Compression chiller to see how well it works at higher chilled water temperatures for cooling without dehumidification. They found that as the chilled water temperature increased by one degree Celsius, the chiller's efficiency improved by about 3.5% and its cooling capacity increased by about 4%. At 17°C chilled water temperature, the chiller's efficiency and cooling capacity were 37-40% and 40-45% better than standard conditions. This shows that the chiller performs well at higher chilled water temperatures for sensible cooling.
