The study looked at how planting maize on different slopes affects runoff in Pothwar. They found that runoff increased with steeper slopes, but having crops reduced runoff significantly compared to bare soil. Over three years, runoff was reduced by 24%, 18%, and 15% on slopes of 1%, 5%, and 10% respectively when crops were present.
