The article analyzed changes in land use in Tianjin from 2000 to 2015 using maps and landscape analysis. The main findings were that built-up land expanded significantly while arable land decreased. Hotspots of change were mainly in urban areas and suburbs. The landscape pattern also changed, with arable land becoming more fragmented. Different factors drove changes in built-up and arable land.
