STAT family genes predict better survival in ovarian cancer patients.
The STAT family of proteins, involved in cell processes like growth and spread, can predict outcomes in ovarian cancer. High levels of STAT1, STAT4, STAT5a, STAT5b, and STAT6 are linked to better survival in ovarian cancer patients. Especially, high STAT1 and STAT4 levels are good for serous ovarian cancer. These proteins also indicate a better prognosis in late-stage, poorly differentiated, and TP53 mutated ovarian cancer. Overall, the STAT family can help predict how well ovarian cancer patients will do, except for STAT2 and STAT3.
