The article examines the relationship between inflation and unemployment in South Africa. It challenges the idea that keeping inflation low helps create more jobs. By directly testing this relationship, the study found no short-term trade-off between inflation and unemployment. However, there is conflicting evidence of a positive link between inflation and employment growth. In the long run, the research shows that higher inflation actually harms job creation.
