Polluted River Threatens Drinking Water for Thousands in Southern Nigeria
The water quality of Obueyinomo River in Southern Nigeria was assessed using a water quality index. Various parameters like turbidity, pH, dissolved oxygen, and biochemical oxygen demand were measured. The results showed that the water from the river is not suitable for drinking due to high levels of contaminants. The study also found that the water quality index values exceeded the recommended standards, indicating the need for treatment before consumption.
