New Cotton Hybrids Boost Yields and Fiber Quality for Farmers!
The researchers analyzed the performance of 22 cotton hybrids crossed with a new genetic male line. They found that most hybrids showed increased boll weight compared to their parents, with some combinations showing even higher gains. Fiber length also improved in many hybrids, while fiber micronaire mostly decreased. Some hybrids exhibited strong fiber strength, surpassing both parent plants. Overall, the study highlights the potential for creating high-yielding and quality cotton hybrids through genetic male lines.
