Silver barb inclusion boosts fish yield in polyculture, impacting Indian carps.
The researchers studied how adding Thai silver barb to ponds with Indian carps affected their growth. They found that the presence of silver barb decreased the growth of Indian carps but increased the growth of common carp. Overall, the ponds with all four species together had a significantly higher fish yield compared to ponds without silver barb.
