Energy contest sparks innovation and collaboration among students in Japan
An energy contest focusing on alternative energy was started by the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers in 2008 for university and technical college students. The contest aimed to promote energy awareness and innovation. By 2011, JSME began sponsoring the contest to expand its reach. In 2012, participation qualifications were broadened to encourage more students to join. The study compared this contest with similar ones to understand its impact and effectiveness.
