Estimating how much water plants use is important for understanding the water cycle in agriculture. A new method called PM-KP was tested on Asian crops, showing it works well for rice fields and okay for other crops in humid conditions. The method was better for rice than for potatoes. This method could be a good way to estimate water use in flooded rice fields and rainy croplands.
