European Monetary Union Shapes Future Foreign Policy Integration
The article examines the relationship between monetary and foreign policies in the European Economic Community from 1958 to 1971. While there was no real common management in international affairs, progress was made towards a common monetary policy through the creation of the European Monetary Board. The study suggests that foreign policy management was less developed compared to economic and monetary policies, which were more closely linked to customs and economic integration. The research highlights the need for further exploration of the connections between monetary and foreign policies during this period.
