Pig manure's high nitrogen levels hinder biogas production efficiency.
The researchers studied pig manure to find out why it's not great for making biogas. They looked at the composition of pig manure and compared it to cow dung. They found that pig manure has too much ammonical nitrogen, the wrong C:N ratio, and a slightly acidic pH, which makes it hard to produce biogas efficiently. To fix this, pig manure needs to be treated with techniques like carbonization, dilution, and acidification.
