Zambia's Financial System Fails Majority, Only 8% Have Bank Accounts
The banking system in Zambia is small and underdeveloped, with limited access to credit for most people. Only large corporations and a few small businesses can get loans. Fewer than 8% of adults have a bank account. Foreign banks haven't introduced many new services. The paper looks at why Zambia's banking system hasn't grown much and suggests ways to improve access to finance in the country.
