Sinkholes are forming along the Dead Sea coast due to the water level dropping. The salt in the ground is dissolving, creating caverns that collapse and form sinkholes. Scientists used different geophysical methods to locate the salt and detect the caverns before sinkholes appear. By studying the area for 20 years, they confirmed their predictions made earlier about sinkhole development. This research helps us understand how sinkholes are forming in the Dead Sea area.
