Greenhouse Heating Optimization Slashes Coal Consumption by 50% in Northeast China
Solar greenhouses in northeast China were studied to understand how energy is distributed inside them. The researchers used a simplified numerical model to calculate the energy consumption and distribution in a Chinese solar greenhouse. They found that during the coldest days, most of the energy loss occurred through conduction, with the front roof being the main contributor. The best time for heating the greenhouse was around 5 a.m., and the total coal consumption over three months was estimated to be 5.1 tons. This model helped simulate the energy flow and heating processes in the greenhouse, providing insights for developing a comprehensive heating strategy.
