Stormwater runoff major source of pollution in Rouge River watershed
A model was created to study pollution in the Rouge River. It looked at stormwater runoff, combined sewer overflows, baseflow, and point source discharges. Stormwater runoff from areas without sewers is the biggest source of pollution, while combined sewer overflows make up 8% of the total flow. The model can help predict how pollution affects the river's water quality over time.
