Paclobutrazol boosts olive tree yield while reducing vegetative growth in subtropical climates
The study looked at how a chemical called Paclobutrazol affects the growth of olive trees. Paclobutrazol reduced the height and spread of the trees, as well as the size of their leaves. Using 4ml of Paclobutrazol per plant was the most effective in slowing down the tree's growth. Interestingly, Paclobutrazol did not affect the olive tree's flowering, possibly because the trees were still young and the climate wasn't ideal. Overall, Paclobutrazol has the potential to increase fruit yield in olive trees.
