Early voting laws increase overall participation by 2% in US elections.
Early voting laws have changed the US political system. This study looks at how early voting affects voter turnout, why some states have early voting while others don't, and how political parties view early voting. It also compares early voters, election day voters, and non-voters, and examines the impact of early voting laws on electoral participation. The findings show that early voting doesn't change how political parties mobilize voters, early voters are different from election day voters, and early voting policies increase overall participation by 2%. Early voting changes how citizens participate in elections and boosts political engagement in different areas.
