Sugarcane production can be improved by different soil tillage methods. A study in Goianésia, Brazil, compared six tillage treatments on sugarcane growth. The treatment with harrow + moldboard plow + harrow resulted in the highest number of stalks. However, the treatments with desiccation + moldboard plow + harrow and harrow + disk plow + harrow gave the highest sugarcane yields. Surprisingly, the no-till treatment was just as productive as the treatments with the highest yields, making it a cost-effective option for sugarcane cultivation.
