Offices Slash Energy Bills by Harnessing Daylight's Power
Installing daylight responsive control systems in office buildings in hot climates significantly reduces electrical energy consumption, especially for lighting. By using sensors and controllers, these systems can adjust natural and artificial lighting levels to maintain a comfortable indoor environment. Different control systems, such as dimming and on/off switches, were tested in cities like Miami, Phoenix, and Houston. The results showed that these daylighting controllers can effectively lower energy usage in office buildings, making them more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly.
