Group Fit Impacts Feeling Valued: Optimistic Bias Boosts Involvement
The study looked at how group members feeling involved and valued is related to how engaged they feel within their group. They found that when group members feel engaged, they also feel more involved and valued. It was also discovered that when group members and the group as a whole have similar perceptions of engagement, members feel more involved and valued. Surprisingly, when group members have a positive view of engagement but the group as a whole does not, members still feel more involved and valued. This shows that understanding how group members perceive engagement within their group is important for making members feel involved and valued.
