Conventional tillage and nitrogen boost wheat yields, revolutionizing crop production.
Tillage practices and nitrogen levels were studied to see how they affect soil and wheat growth. Different tillage methods and nitrogen amounts were tested in a field experiment. Conventional tillage gave the best wheat yields compared to reduced or zero tillage. Applying 150 or 200 kg of nitrogen per hectare with conventional tillage led to the highest grain yield. Root growth increased with more intense tillage, and nitrogen helped roots grow longer. Soil properties like density and organic matter were also affected by tillage, with conventional tillage showing the best results. In conclusion, conventional tillage and 150 kg of nitrogen per hectare are best for high wheat yields. More research is needed for long-term results.
