A study in India looked at different ways to grow maize with other crops to see which method produced the best results. They tested five different systems, including growing maize alone or with other plants like greengram and cluster bean. They also tried different amounts of nitrogen fertilizer on the maize. The researchers found that growing maize with cluster bean using 75% of the recommended nitrogen dose was the most profitable option. This method gave the highest yields and was the most cost-effective compared to the other systems tested.
