Clathrate hydrate slurry could slash air-conditioning energy costs worldwide.
In this research, scientists studied a special ice-like material called clathrate hydrate to make a slushy mixture that's super cooling. They wanted to see how dense this mixture is compared to plain water and the clathrate hydrate all on its own. The slushy mix can keep things cool without using much energy. They found out that the density of the slush matches up well with what was predicted. This information could help make air conditioning more efficient by reducing how much energy it needs to run.
