The study looked at how much sediment flows from a watershed in Taiwan. They found that the amount of sediment carried by water was highest after a big storm in 1963. This high sediment level lasted for many years before going back to normal. The researchers also saw that the amount of sediment was linked to how much water was flowing in the river each year.
