City of Nis at Risk: Urban Green Areas Decline Threatens Livability.
Urban green areas play a crucial role in cities, affecting their quality and livability. As cities grow, there is a trend of losing green spaces due to increased construction. This study looked at how urban green areas are planned and developed in the city of Nis over the past twenty years. The researchers examined the functions, standards, and classification of green areas in urban plans to see if the loss of green spaces is due to not following the plans or the planning methods themselves. The findings suggest that changes in urban green areas planning and development can be observed through urban planning documents, highlighting the importance of proper planning to meet the growing need for green spaces in cities.
