Revitalizing Croatian Regions Through Innovative Industrial Policy Approach
The article discusses how regional development in Croatia has been neglected, especially in areas reliant on manufacturing. The transition crisis in the 1990s led to lower output and employment in these regions. To improve competitiveness, a regional innovation policy is needed to absorb knowledge and enhance regional capacities. A new industrial policy focusing on innovation quality and decentralized approaches is being considered for eight Croatian Counties facing similar regional challenges.
