They found that Malaysian companies are becoming more competitive by focusing on design and cultural representation. The study shows that Malaysian manufacturers are open to changing their design practices to grow their businesses. By comparing practices in Malaysia and the UK, the researchers identified key similarities and differences in management, product design, customer expectations, marketing, and branding. They suggest a Design Best Practice Model that Malaysian businesses can use to improve their competitiveness in local and global markets.
