Rainforests disappearing at alarming rate, risking global ecosystem collapse.
Rainforests are incredibly diverse ecosystems that are home to half of the Earth's plants and animals. While they don't actually produce most of the world's oxygen, they do help regulate the Earth's temperature and reduce the effects of global warming. Unfortunately, rainforests are disappearing rapidly, with only 6% of the planet still covered by them. If we continue at this rate, they could be completely gone in just 40 years. It's crucial to protect and preserve what's left of these vital ecosystems to avoid losing the benefits they provide.
