The article discusses three economic studies on challenges facing African youth. The first study focuses on sports betting in Uganda, showing that financial constraints lead young men to bet for unmet needs. Providing a savings technology reduces their betting demand. The second study evaluates a sports program in Liberia for at-risk youth. The third study in Burkina Faso examines how rainfall shocks affect marriage decisions among youth.
