Optimal irrigation method boosts peach tree yield in drought-prone regions.
The Oradea basin in Romania is great for growing peach trees, but it lacks specific irrigation. By using the Penman-Monteith method, researchers found the best way to schedule irrigation for optimal peach tree growth. This method considers soil water balance, reference evapotranspiration, and crop coefficients. Compared to other methods, Penman-Monteith closely matched the peach tree's water needs, leading to better water use efficiency and higher quality yields. This study suggests that precise irrigation scheduling is crucial for successful peach tree cultivation in the Oradea basin.
