Basement Walls Fail to Prevent Condensation, Risking Mold and Structural Damage
The study looked at how well basement walls in a hot summer and cold winter area resist heat. They used a computer program to simulate the temperature inside the walls during summer weather. The results showed that despite having enough insulation, the walls still got wet. This happened because the program didn't have accurate soil temperature, the ventilation was hard to control, and the weather data was incorrect.
