The study looked at how water flows in the Chalk aquifer in East Yorkshire by analyzing spring discharge patterns. By studying the recession curves of spring hydrographs, researchers identified different flow systems in the aquifer. They used various data sets and models to understand the groundwater behavior in two catchment areas. The analysis showed that one area has water draining from a single reservoir, while the other may have a dual-reservoir system with smaller fractures and conduits. This research helps us understand how water moves through the Chalk aquifer in East Yorkshire.
