The study looked at how international trade affects employment in Vietnam from 2010 to 2015. Using different methods, they found that trade has a positive impact on employment for firms with high employment levels, but a negative impact for firms with low employment levels. This suggests that previous studies may have missed this important distinction and that firm characteristics play a key role in understanding the relationship between trade and employment.
