Polluted Ganjiang River Threatens Poyang Lake's Ecological Balance
The researchers studied water quality in Ganjiang River to understand its impact on Poyang Lake. They measured indicators like conductivity, turbidity, phosphorus, nitrogen, and more across different sites in 2015-2016. Results showed that pollution levels varied across sections of the river, with the central branch having the best water quality and the southern branch the worst. Central pollutants were COD, TN, and SS. Water quality from upstream was better than downstream, and the best quality was in winter, while the worst was in summer.
