Reintroducing Food Safety Managers: A Game Changer for Preventing Food Hazards
The study compares food safety management systems in Korea and Japan. Japan introduced the Food Sanitation Manager system in 1957 to prevent food safety incidents. Korea had a similar system but abolished it in 2000. The researchers suggest reintroducing the food safety manager system in Korea to strengthen food safety measures and create new job opportunities. This system would hold food companies accountable for ensuring food safety and improving overall food safety practices.
